This changes everything.

The nativity of our Lord.

Arguably the most important moment in salvation history, coupled with the resurrection.

This is why satan hates Him.

Because he hates these things.

Goodness.
Humility.
Loveliness.
Poverty.
Intimacy.
Family.
Compassion.
Understanding.

And this very moment was the epitome of all that God is.

The veil between heaven and earth became thinner and thinner on this day some two-thousand years ago.

The Maker of all things allowed his Son to become like us, in fullness of intimacy.

He not only knows us, but He knows our suffering, too.
He understands the brokenness of mankind.

And that is why He was here.
To redeem it all.

Let us ask Him today,

Jesus, how can I learn from your humility?

In what ways can you strip me of my self-seeking and flashy ways?

How can I be obedient like your mother, even in the face of fear and possibility of persecution?
