Immanuel
PRAISE.
Praise the King
Whose hands reached for His Mother
& clung to His Father
All as a little baby. [Lk. 2]
The hands that healed the blind man [Jn. 9]
The hands that washed His disciples’ feet [Jn 13]
& the hands that broke the bread [Lk. 24]
All as Teacher and Friend.
The same hands that
Carried the cross
Were pierced by the nails
And crippled, reached for Heaven crying, “Abba, Father!”
All as Savior. [Mt. 27] [Mk. 15] [Lk. 23] [Jn. 19]
—
Praise the King
Whose feet carried Him to wander in the temple, [Lk. 2]
& play with other little boys and girls,
All as a curious child.
The feet that walked miles to bring the dead to life [Jn. 11]
The feet that were anointed by Mary, and wiped by her hair [Mt. 26]
The feet that were seen resurrected [Lk. 24]
All as Rabbi.
The same feet that
Brought Him to His death-sentence
Carried Him to Calvary
Bled onto His Mother & His Beloved at the foot of His cross
All as Redeemer & Messiah. [Mt. 27] [Mk. 15] [Lk. 23] [Jn. 19]
_
PRAISE MY FATHER,
Who loved You and I so deeply, to send His only Son to save us.
All in the form of a little child.
So that in difficult moments we may not become despondent,
But we may submit ourselves to the God who humbled Himself to take on our flesh, so we may take on His divinity.
–
Praise, because
Immanuel.
GOD WITH US.
[Isaiah 7:14]
